Peace-Able
Take the Blueprint Quiz

You know how to plan a wedding. Do you know how to build the marriage?

Most engaged couples have no shared, practiced plan for the three things that actually predict a stable marriage — communication, boundary-setting, and repair after conflict. Peace-Able teaches you both, before the wedding, so you walk in with a shared playbook instead of hoping the love is enough.

The Stakes

Nobody tells you what to actually do about the hard part.

Everyone says the wedding is the easy part. Almost no one tells you what to do about the part that comes after — the ordinary, unglamorous work of building a life with another person. Skip that work, and the risk usually isn't a dramatic ending. It's years of feeling like roommates who occasionally resent each other — a marriage that looks fine from the outside and feels hollow on the inside.

The Guide

Dr. Sean Smitham is a clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience, having treated individuals, couples, and families. Outcome data collected by Dr. Smitham over the past 7 years indicates his clients routinely achieve outcomes better than published benchmarks for psychotherapy interventions.* In his practice, Dr. Smitham has noticed that most human struggle comes down to how well we handle our relationships. He's also lived the other side of this familiar human struggle: years of painful relationships, including a ten-year marriage that ended in divorce — not from a lack of clinical knowledge, but because knowing how to help people isn't the same as knowing how to build a healthy "us." Today, Dr. Smitham is in his second marriage, happily married, and enjoying the fruits of having learned how to build that healthy "us" with his wife. The Peace-Able Premarital Intensive is built to help you learn these lessons before the wedding instead of after.

This isn't therapy, and it isn't about what's wrong with you. It's skill-building for two people who already love each other and want to keep it that way.
The Plan

Three steps, starting before the wedding.

  1. Take the Blueprint Quiz A short, free tool that shows you the pattern already shaping how you handle closeness, conflict, and commitment.
  2. Book the two-day intensive Learn the three core skills together: communication, boundary-setting, and repair.
  3. Walk into marriage with a shared playbook Reinforced by a follow-up group call a few weeks out, where the hardest skill (repair) gets real practice.
What This Builds

What this actually builds.

Couples who do this work describe using their own feelings as fuel for connection — a doorway to curiosity and understanding — instead of feeling like two opposing armies trying to win. That's the shift: from opponents to teammates investigating a shared problem and building a stronger "us."
